Ute Lake is one of the southwest’s best kept secrets. This second largest lake in New Mexico came into existence after the 1963 construction of a 5,750 ft. long dam, aptly named the Ute Dam. In 1984, the largest Labyrinth Weir Spillway Facility in the world was completed in Ute Dam, which raised the water level in Ute Lake 27 ft. and more than doubled the surface acreage of the Lake from 42,000 ft. to 84,000 ft. Today, Ute Lake is 13 miles-long, extending as far as 1 mile wide and 130 ft. deep. The lake is fed by the Canadian River and Ute Creek, and is home to the state record for Walleye fishing. It is also home to world-class Bass fishing.
In 1997, the first Ute Lake Ranch partner discovered a one-of-a-kind opportunity to own waterfront property in the Southwest; one that offered all of the essential components to create a spectacular lifestyle-oriented community. Lakefront property in Southwest New Mexico, augmented by unparalleled weather, and located in an easily accessible location, detailed the foundation for this incredible master-planned resort community.
