The Inspiration

Signed into law on May 20, 1862, the Homestead Act encouraged families to migrate west by providing settlers 160 acres of land. The act offered opportunities to own land by simply applying for an application with the implications of promising to improve upon that land. In return for their hard work families would earn the right to stake roots and pass on a legacy. Now, almost 150 years later Ute Lake Ranch inspires families to make the Southwest a part of their lives, by establishing roots in the natural beauty that is New Mexico. Like the pioneer spirit, Ute Lake Ranch is about life, about the land, and about your legacy.
